Let these mistakes and successes guide your own front yard garden dreams.

I figured I could always expand on it later if needed.

As it turned out, it provided plenty of space for everything I wanted to plant without becoming overwhelming.

This is what truly brings out the pollinators (and compliments!).

The only drawback was that it makes planting a bit more tedious until the cardboard disintegrates.

After that, I spreadlawn clippingsalong the edges to keep the turf from creeping into the bed.

In addition to being useful, thestepping stonesoffer a psychological welcome to the garden.

Keep It Colorful and Tidy

My front yard garden has been a hit.

Neighbors and visitors alike have commented on the beauty.

There are a few reasons its been well accepted.

Two, I used a range of species, sizes, and shapes that peak in different seasons.

Three, I included plenty of perennial flowers androses for color.

And four, I keep the garden weeded, flowers deadheaded, and shrubs trimmed before they become overgrown.
