When washed improperly, knitted fabrics can permanently lose their shape due toshrinking, stretching, andpilling.
After washing, always air-dry your sweater on a flat surface to maintain its shape and texture.

High heat can ruin the cushioning in running shoes and melt the glue that holds canvas sneakers together.
Swimwear
Swimwear is designed for durability, but the elastic used in these garments can be sensitive to heat.
High temperatures, whether from hot weather or the dryer, can cause the elastic to shrink or degrade.
Instead, gently squeeze out excess water and lay your swimwear flat to air dry.
This will help preserve its elasticity and keep it in good shape for many swims to come.
When wet, faux fur can quickly become matted or clumped, which can damage its texture.
These stains can leave behind highly flammable residues that may ignite, even at low temperatures.
To avoid this, it’s best to air dry any beaded or sequined pieces.
For all other materials, the heat can cause materials to melt, shrink, or warp.
Then, hang your bag upside-down in a well-ventilated area to air dry.
