If your patio doesn’t allow for a more open-concept layout, try focusing the furniture in one corner.
Push your chairs and couches together to create a faux sectional look.
Place small end tables on either end of the couch instead of using a larger outdoor coffee table.

If your patio isn’t covered, add a shaded element to your furniture layout.
Place a patio umbrella in the corner of your space to open on sunny afternoons.
For a more bohemian look, use string lights with small paper lanterns on the bulbs.
If your patio is covered, hang the lights using screw eyes and caribiners.
If you don’t want to hang string lights, scatter candles or lanterns around your patio.
you could also place small battery-operated torches throughout your space to provide extra light.
