While steel wool might look fuzzy and soft, it’s surprisingly good at scrubbing stubborn messes.
The grade #0000 is the finest one and best for delicate surfaces, like glass andstainless steel.
The grade #4 is the coarsest, used only for the toughest of cleaning jobs.
Always read the package’s instructions and grade description before you use the steel wool on any material.
Submerge and soak the racks in hot soapy water before gently scrubbing them with fine-grade steel wool.
Rinse and dry the racks before returning them to the oven.
Fine-grade steel wool can gently be used on cast iron, stainless steel, and enamel cookware.
Never use it onnonstick cookware, as it can remove the protective coating.
Use a penetrating oil like WD-40 before scrubbing the rusted area with fine or medium-grade steel wool.
