Plus, brushes and blenders easily collect dust and germs if you don’t clean them often enough.

The above scenario is all too familiar to me, especially during busier seasons.

But over the years, Ive developed simple habits that have seriously helped tocurb the clutterand keep products tidy.

Here are eight things in your makeup drawer that you should clean or clear out altogether.

(After all, there’s no sense in cleaning old products you’re not going to keep!)

Clean or Toss These Items from Your Makeup Drawer

1.

Take the time to pull out anything that doesnt belong and re-home them elsewhere.

Mascara is the one to look out for.

According to the FDA, it should be tossed three months after its been opened to avoid potential infections.

Mascara should also be replaced after any eye irritation or infections.

Tweezers, Eyelash Curlers, and Other Tools

7.

This will help prevent spills from spreading and products from being needlessly wasted.

Place a small piece of plastic wrap on top and smooth the paste with a spoon.

Then, remove the plastic and let it dry into a powder before applying it again.
