The weight of the blades can be affected by thick layers of dust and dirt.
A cotton swab can help get into the narrow cracks and crevices for a more thorough cleaning.
Loosen the ceiling fan bracket housing to visually inspect the fan mount and bracket fasteners.
Check the label on the electrical box to ensure it is rated for ceiling fans.
If the electrical box is not rated for ceiling fans, then it will need to be replaced.
Leave this task to a professional electrician.
After tightening these fasteners, wiggle the fan mount to ensure that it doesn’t shift.
Use a ladder to get close enough to the fan to thoroughly inspect the entire unit.
If the blades are not even, then the fan may wobble and rattle during use.
To fix this issue, measure the vertical distance from the tip of each fan blade to the ceiling.
These kits are available at home improvement centers and online for between $5 and $10.

Remove the clip and test the fan.
Repeat this process with each blade until the fan can rotate without rattling or wobbling.
