Brew a perfect cup of coffee every time by keeping your Nespresso machine clean and in good working order.
To keep a Nespresso machine in tip top shape, a combination ofregular cleaningandroutine descalingis needed.
Signs that a machine needs to be descaled include unusual noises, slow pouring, and bitter tasting coffee.

Additionally, most Nespresso machines are designed with an indicator light that turns on when descaling is needed.
The brand offers adescaling powderthat is dissolved in water to create a descaling solution.
Clean Capsule Container
Remove the capsule container from the machine and discard any used capsules.
Wash the capsule container with hot, soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge.
Dry the capsule container and return it to the machine.
Wipe Capsule Head and Machine Exterior
Use a damp cloth to gently wipe the capsule head.
Activate Cleaning Cycle
Place a 4-cup capacity cup or bowl under the spout.
Press the start button three times in quick succession to activate the cleaning cycle.
The cleaning cycle takes approximately five minutes and will shut off when it’s done.
Discard the water from the cleaning cycle and refill the water tank.
Fill the water tank with one package of Nespresso Descaling Solution and a half tank of water.
Place a cup or bowl large enough to hold 20 ounces of water underneath the spout.
Press and release the button once.
Press and hold the button until the light starts blinking, and lock the lever.
A quickly blinking light indicates that descaling mode is activated.
Run Rinse Cycle
When the 15-minute descaling cycle is complete, the machine will stop.
Empty and rinse the water tank, and refill it with clean water.
Empty the water tank.
Allow 10 minutes before using the machine for brewing.
If needed, clean the machine using the steps outlined above.
