Avoid extremely hot water; instead, opt for a gentle rinse under warm water.

Try conditioning oil, food-grade mineral oil, or beeswax.
Let the oil sit for 10 minutes and wipe off any excess.
Every five years or so, you should replace your wooden cooking items.
