Safety Considerations

You shouldn’t ever stack machines that aren’t intended to be stacked.

Just because awasher and dryer are front-loadingdoesn’t mean you might safely stack them.

Additionally, stacking washers and dryers without a stacking kit poses significant safety risks to anyone around the machines.

This is especially true during operation, as vibrations can cause the top unit to topple off.

Washers and dryers are extremely heavy.

To avoid injuring yourself, recruit one or two friends to help lift the appliance.

If the stacking kit comes with rubber stacking feet, install them on the dryer.

If needed, use appliance lifting straps to make lifting the dryer easier and safer.

Once the dryer is resting on the washer, position it according to the manufacturer’s placement guidance.

Typically, this will have the dryer slightly overhanging the back of the washer.

Never attempt to stack a washer on top of a dryer.

Washers are significantly heavier than dryers, especially when filled with clothes and water.

Different stacking kits require different tools and steps, so choose the necessary tools according to the included hardware.

Test the Appliances

Run a cycle on both appliances and monitor them for wobbling or excess vibration.

Adjust the positioning if necessary.
