In a pinch, anatticorbasementshould be okay for this relatively short-term storage.

This is to prevent damaged from flooding or exposure to moths and dust mites.

The nice thing is you only have to purchase supplies once because you could reuse them each time.

Separate Off-Season Items

Block off an afternoon to get this job done.

If youre putting away fall/winter clothing, pull out anything you wont wear during the spring and summer months.

Also pull out any booties or suede heels that you cant imagine wearing when its pushing 90 degrees.

Sort these off-season items by category and dont forget to purge your wardrobe along the way.

After vacuuming the air out of the bags, start layering them into the totes.

Depending on the sizes you use, you should be able to get two to three bags per tote.

For shoes, I like to use inexpensive drawstring shoe bags and then fill a tote with them.
