Make Topping

In a small bowl combine brown sugar, black pepper and cayenne; set aside.

Add Bacon

Pour syrup in a small shallow dish.

Dip bacon strips in the syrup, coating both sides.

Lay bacon on wire rack in a single layer.

Sprinkle on Topping

Sprinkle bacon with the sugar mixture, pressing gently to help it adhere.

Bake and Serve

Bake for 40 to 50 minutes until bacon is caramelized and beginning to crisp.
