We experienced the same results when paired with a cleaning solution.
After a couple sprays and tossing it in the wash, it came out good as new.

The rug itself has a light, faded pattern that would go nicely with lots of different styles.
That said, its the only option.

Its an incredibly dense rug with a low pile and looped wool fibers.
We were surprised that no coffee grounds got stuck or caught in the looped wool fibers.
However, the pet brush quickly damaged the fibers, leaving visible signs of wear after a few passes.
The rug is not incredibly soft, but its well made.
In a bedroom where foot traffic is low, we can see this shrug thriving.

Its supposed to be stain resistant, but the chocolate stain left a visible mark behind.
The rug itself easily laid on the floor with no curling at the edges.
You should note theres no skid-proof backing on this rug, so it moves around.

If thats not ideal, you canpurchase a rug padseparately.
While the pet brush didnt remove any fibers, it did create a visible difference in texture and color.
And some stray coffee grounds still popped up when we brushed it with our hands.
The best part about this rug is how soft it feels underneath the feet.
After one wash, the edges did ripple, so it may take some effort to flatten them again.
The World Market Iman area rug is so soft we thought it was almost cloud-like.
It also doesnt have a non-slip backing.
Otherwise, after six months and counting, its still holding up beautifully.
It remains comfortable underfoot and adds a much-needed layer of insulation to a cold, tiled floor.
We enjoyed it so much that we’re considering buying more for other areas.
It is durable enough to handle vacuums, foot traffic, and vigorous brushing without disturbance.
This rug, even with a non-slip backing, still manages to move around on the floor a bit.
Its a soft rug with a low pile that feels thin and is nice to walk on.
When brushed with the pet brush for a durability check, the rug remained fairly undisturbed.
It continues to feel thick and cushiony, too.
The biggest consideration is that the rug is fairly slipperyeven with a pad, it tends to move around.
If your style is more vintage orFrench country, this is a great rug for the bedroom.

We recommend a rug pad or going with a size large enough to anchor under your bed frame.
For washable rugs, the preliminary test began with observations around thickness, density, and pile.
While those were drying, we vacuumed the bottom left corner of the rug and recorded the results.

Then we put a teaspoon of potting soil onto the rug.
Ahandheld vacuumwas used to suction up the potting soil.
For area rugs that could not be put in a washer, the preliminary tests were identical.
Instead of potting soil, however, we used one tablespoon of coffee grounds for the vacuum test.
We then revisited each of the selected rugs six months later to see if they continued to hold up.
To figure out what size works best for you, youll have to measure the size of your bedroom.
Higher pile rugs (like shag rugs) have visibly longer fibers, but arent very dense.
However, theyre really soft, so they can be great for a bedroom.
Most washable rugs are low pile.
Material
Most of the rugs on our list aremade of woolor synthetic materials.
These materials tend to have a lot of texture which are perfect for making a space cozy and inviting.
Wool is also a great option.
According toAmerican Wool, wool is tear- and abrasion-resistant, and can bend up to 20,000 times without breaking.
However, its not as soft as synthetic fibers.
I prefer to go bigger because a smaller rug always makes the room feel smaller, Alvarez says.
Are polypropylene rugs safe to use at home?
Its typically seen in the waterproof coating in washable or stain-resistant rugs.
Rest assured, it has been deemed safe by the Environmental Protection Agency.
