To find the best pool alarms, we tested several options at home in our pools.

Its the most expensive alarm model we tested.

After testing several options, we thought theSwamCam Pool Alarmis the best pool alarm.

We placed this pick inside the window of our sun room, which faced the pool.

If you plan to mount the pieces like us, note it may take up to thirty minutes.

Once installed, we noted that the interface was clear, and the buttons were simple to use.

We found that with your phone on you, should an alert go off, it reacted instantaneously.

The camera remained clear, the app works well, and the sensor is still accurate.

Although we wish this was a wireless design, we still think the alarm is worth the investment.

We think theBCone Smart Floating Pool Safety Alarm Systemis a great option if you prefer a floating pool alarm.

Otherwise, the overall setup took us less than ten minutes.

The alarm looks like a cone-shaped pool toy and we found that it sits well under a pool cover.

When we triggered the alarm with a simulated fall, the alarm set off immediately.

Its simple to silence too, sending a push notification to the app.

We kept this pool alarm in our pool throughout testing and used it daily.

We liked that the design was unobtrusive and we didn’t notice any wear or tear.

However, we didn’t think it was a dealbreaker and would still recommend it.

You have to maintain the pool water level weekly to not set off any false alarms.

If your pool isan in-ground model, then theBlue Wave Pool Alarm Systemis our go-to pick.

This option, which can also work withan above-ground pool, comes with a poolside and in-home alarm.

It requires six D batteries and one 9v battery, which is not included.

The alarm goes off quickly, taking a few seconds if the fall happens farther away.

There are two parameters: swimming or alarm.

We did experience one false alarm, so you do have to be thoughtful with placement.

If the pool alarm had an app, we downloaded it and synced it to our devices.

Once set up, we simulated several scenarios to test the alarm.

For standard models, we simulated someone falling into the pool by having someone jump in from different heights.

Furthermore, wireless models are less prone to any fraying, allowing better longevity.

Range

Pool alarms typically cater to wide ranges to be able to catch intruders without fail.

For example, theBlue Wave Pool Alarm Systemhas a 100-foot wireless range to cover your pool grounds.

Some pool alarms come with additional features that can make them easier to use.

This is much like front-door security camera solutions.

It was also more expensive than some other options and we didnt think the materials felt high-quality.

However, the pool alarm stopped working during the testing period, so we wouldn’t recommend it.
