Ingredients
Coffee-Marinated Flank Steak
1tsp.kosher salt
1(1 1/4-lb.
Place steak in a resealable plastic bag set in a shallow dish.
In a small bowl whisk together coffee, coffee liqueur, brown sugar, 1 tsp.
chili crisp, and garlic powder.
Add to the bag.
Seal bag; turn to coat.
Marinate
Marinate in the refrigerator at least 1 hour to overnight.
Dry Steak
Before cooking, let steak and marinade stand at room temperature 30 minutes.
Remove steak from marinade, reserving marinade.
Blot steak dry with paper towels.
Cook Steak
Meanwhile, preheat broiler.
Place steak on the unheated rack of a broiler pan.
Place steak on a cutting board.
Let stand 5 minutes before thinly slicing against the grain.
Reduce Marinade
Place reserved marinade in a small saucepan.
Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, 5 minutes.
(You will have about 1/2 cup).
Serve with remaining reduced coffee marinade, if desired.
