Chinese takeout meets the Thanksgiving table with a sweet barbecue twist for your turkey.

This year,marinate your turkeyin the flavors of char siu, a Cantonese-style barbecue sauce.

What Is Char Siu?

Char siu pork is traditionally served over rice, added tostir-fried riceor noodles, or stuffed intosteamed bao buns.

Char Siu Turkey Ingredients

Here’s what you’ll need tomake the turkey breastwith the barbecue marinade.

It is the double breast of the turkey still attached to the bone (legs and wings removed).

As with whole turkeys, bone-in breasts are available fresh or frozen.

Reserve 1/4 cup of the marinade.

Marinate Turkey Breast

Place turkey breast and the rest of the marinade in a resealable bag.

Refrigerate 4 hours to overnight, turning occasionally.

Roast Turkey

Preheat oven to 325oF.

Line a large rimmed baking sheet with foil, place a wire rack on top.

Remove turkey from the marinade, discarding remaining marinade.

Place turkey on the prepared wire rack.

Brush turkey with reserved 1/4 cup marinade every 30 minutes while roasting.

Be sure to turn the bag with the turkey breast occasionally to evenly distribute the sauce over the bird.
